Farmer Don

Our garden taking shape.  We never got one started when we moved last year, so we're very excited to start enjoying the fruits of Don's labor.  Yes, it's in our front yard.  That's where all the good light is.
My farmer girl.  She likes to shove her hands behind the bib of her overalls and strut around.  It's pretty cute if I do say so myself.
A maternal moment with her favorite dolly.
Putting the other dolls and bears to bed.  Bed is where one little girl is right now, allowing me a moment to get this out to you.

I think Don has planted about everything, except tomatoes, at this point. Lots of salad greens, herbs, onions, garlic, beans. Some of it has been killed by the neighborhood cats and birds. We're working on that issue.

I'll get more photos once things are popping up.

Ha! I just looked back at when Evie did the "putting dolls and stuffed animals to sleep" thing, she was about 20 or 21 months old. Strange! I wonder if it's some developmental milestone??
Oh my gosh... The long winter is over! Flyingwaffle & Co. are back! I love that you're planting in the front yard. Front yeards are so wasted so often. The boys think this is an absolutely normal place for a garden, but they also love it; they love gardens, wherever they are, everywhere. Speaking of your pictures and the boys: Leo is Very Proud to be seeing Gretchen in "his" old sweatshirt. And seaking of gardens: we've just started turning the earth and planting in ours, too. Got a late start, but there were already many strawberries from years past, and rhubarb, too. Onions and various berries and tomatoes have been planted. But we're looking for inspiration, and since our years are a lot like yours, well... any ideas will be welcome!
