At about 3 1/2 months her senior, Gretchen was feeling the pressure when she learned that Clara was eating (and seeming to enjoy) "solid" food. So this week she decided, finally, to swallow the lovely pureed stuff. Carrots appear to be her new love. She was begging for more when the jar ran out.

I was out of carrots, since I had taken the last jar to the babysitters today, so I broke out the peas afterward, which promptly made her gag. I couldn't get a good gag photo. Damn the slow camera! My favorite food face is when she squinches her face and shakes her head. Got to get that on film.
I tried the peas and gagged too. We'll stick with carrots for a bit. Oddly enough, Don and I had carrots and peas tonight too. Ours were possibly better than hers. Plus we had lovely chicken, potatoes and goat cheese. They went nicely with the Syrah. Lots of earthy going on with our meal tonight.
It's been a long week. I was very grumpy today from many nights of a certain little girl not falling asleep easily. Tonight it was thankfully very quick and easy, so I got to run to DQ for some ice cream sandwiches. Yummy! When I got back this is what I found--
pure bliss. Now I get to blog and knit while everyone sleeps.
This one just cracks me up.
