In case you're wondering...

we're still waiting. Patiently. I figure the kid will show up on October 1. We'll see. We completely expected to see this day come and go with no sign of the kid, and it looks like that's what's going to happen. Anne and I had a due date lunch at a little restaurant in the neighborhood (probably the closest thing to a Toast competitor in the 'hood) and then stopped by Toast for a cookie (mmm...peanut butter cookies--the dogs tried to steal my peanut butter cookie last night, but it's hard to steal peanut butter cookies from this pregnant woman). I had a spicy sausage sandwich for lunch--my second spicy meal this week--I have no hope that that helps anything, but it's fun anyway.

So now I'm back to waiting. And soaking in all of the random advice that people give out. Oh, yeah, and back to the laughs that people direct at me. It's very funny how some people at work think that my big old stomach is funny. They seem to be surprised that I can make it out of the house in the morning with this belly. Am I that big? Perhaps.

I finished reading Housekeeping. I recommend it and can send a copy out to some lucky person if anyone is interested, let me know.

It's now 5:20 pm and I think I need to go to bed. Sad, but true. Goodnight!

Happy due date day! Have I mentioned that a friend of mine just started going to a new dr. for her 2nd baby and he told her he doesn't let anyone go more than TWO DAYS past their date? I find that to be absolutely absurd and very poor doctoring!!! My friend, however, doesn't care in the slightest. Whatever...it's not my pregnancy!
I'll take you up on that book. Is there anything you'd like in return?

I think we need a full-on photo to see for ourselves... but, I'm sure you're not "that big!" I can't believe my hunch about sept. 19 was wrong. Ask Betsy, I'm very rarely wrong about these type of hunches! Anyway. I'll let you know if I feel any vibes toward another date. I'm definitely thinking before Oct. tho! xo!
The 23rd is as great a date as any - ho! ho!
I've been checking for voice- and e-mail messages obsessively over the past few days, waiting-waiting... Every phone ring is "The One," too... The excitement is palpable even many thousands of miles away!
Oh, and as for advice... But nah, you've probably heard that one already... (wink! wink!)
Hope you're having a great wait and looking forward to hearing the Big News!

I didn't read this blog till AFTER the big event. In retrospect it's pretty funny. You had me convinced, but clearly the baby knew best. Welcome to the world, littlest girl!
