I'm kind of caught up! There are a few other new posts below if you want to go in chronological order.
Last weekend Don's sister and nephew came to town. We had a very nice relaxing time with them. We've been dreaming of mushroom hunting for a few weeks, and finally went up the mountain to hunt down some morels.

I'm not bragging or anything, but I did find the first morel. Hehe.

We were amazed that on Memorial Day weekend, on one of the most beautiful days of the spring, we didn't see a single soul on the trail. It's a popular mountain biking trail, so usually there are a number of bikes zipping by ready to run people over, but it was perfectly quiet that day. We had lots of luck with the morels. We took about 3/4 of what we saw and Don made up a great morel and asparagus dish. Mmm....

Here are the morels as they were getting their saltwater bath.
The next day we headed out to a privately owned pond/park and did a little fishing with some friends. Everyone caught a fish but me. I did get to help unhook some fish, which was plenty fun for me.

I think Rob's sons might have caught the most fish. They even took a break from sibling rivalry to work together.

Don and Marty caught a branch. They're professionals.

Robbie caught the first fish of the day, sporting his brand new skate board sweatshirt from the saturday market.

My lovely husband saying something like, "Ha ha, you didn't catch any fish."

I couldn't resist some photos of the pretty peacocks that roam around the property.
Oh, I almost forgot, things are starting to move a bit quicker with Toast. The electricians are working full force, and once the city finally gets around to working on the new water meter and does the next plumbing inspection Don can have the cement poured so that the big holes in the ground will be gone. Then it's on to more plumbing, walls, equipment, furniture, windows, etc. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will all be done for an August 1st opening.

I'm with Amber on mushrooms vs. fish. I enjoy fishing, except for the hooking a fish by the side of the mouth part...Don't try to tell me they can't feel that!
I'm still in the midst of reading the updates...so glad to see you back!
