Family fun

My cousin Amy and her husband Greg invited the whole Yerkes clan out to suburban Chicago for a bike ride. 16 or so of us invaded their house for the weekend--they are very patient to have so many people over.

Saturday the weather was perfect for a ride along the Fox River Trail. We rode roughly 14 miles in a loop starting in Geneva. It's a great ride, I recommend it to anyone looking to ride a bike trail outside Chicago.

We saw a sign for "cave" on the trail so we had to check it out. "Cave" was as much information as they were willing to give us, and it was pretty dark inside, so I'll leave it to someone else to explore inside.

Here is the whole crew (minus me, but I promise I was there) near the end of the ride.

After the bike ride some of the family showed their singing skills with a karaoke game. Meanwhile, the shy ones played a rowdy game of sheepshead. Here's one of my really horrible hands. I had a lot of really horrible hands that night. I'm not very good at 5-handed sheepshead, but a horrible hand like this really doesn't help.

Hooray! I'm glad you got out on your bikes! It would have been easy to have called it too cold that day! At least it didn't drizzle on you.
Thanks for adding images and more words to Barb & Larry's recounting of the weekend! Sounds like you all had so much fun - I'm so sorry we missed this one. We're looking forward to meeting you(se) at Midway (or anywhere else, for that matter) sometime soon, cycling our Pabsts away and losing big time at Sheep's Head... p.s. We in Strasbourg would love a few more pictures of you!
