Comfort Food

The October Sunset magazine had a great looking chicken stew recipe that I had to try. I made a batch on Saturday and let it meld in the fridge for two days, as the recipe recommends. So yummy! If you're looking for some good comfort food this fall, this one hits the spot. (Sorry for the dark photo, it looked better on my camera display.)

Pete got to this post before I did, and has already requested the stew as our dinner for the Bears game on Sunday!
Mmmm! Funny, but earlier today I was thinking (while looking for variations on chili recipes) about how little we eat chicken in our house. You've provided the begninings of a remedy for us -- thanks!

He makes tacos. And toast. And frozen pizza.
He can follow a recipe pretty well...but then that means I have to clean up, and I'd much rather cook!

ah yes... as i write jeff is in doing dishes! i, too, would rather make the mess! don't you like how we're communicating back and forth via ellen's comments? i love it!
I much prefer the cooking half, too. Though the immense pleasure of eating Jean-Philippe's concoctions takes a lot away from the drudgery of the dishes. Hm... what about you, Ellen (& Donnie)? heh! heh!

Hi Ellen,
Can't wait to hear about the Yerkes bike ride, and I wanted to tell you how much we like the Blogs,
I copy all of them and dutifully give them to Grandma.
The pics are great and Grandma really enjoys them.
Take care and keep on posting.
