Last weekend Don and I went to Andy and Patty's wedding in Onekama, MI. Onekama is a cute little town on Lake Michigan. We met our friend Matt in Chicago and drove up to Onekama together. The hotel website was a bit misleading on the amount of time it would take to get there from Chicago, so we missed the meet and greet on Friday night, but got there in time for a bonfire on the beach.
The next day it rained, and while everyone else hid on porches and in hotel rooms, Don and I played some shuffleboard. Don won. I wonder if there is anywhere in Portland that I can practice so I have a fighting chance next time. I think Don may have grown up on a cruise ship or wherever else you play shuffleboard.

Meanwhile, Matt slept.

Then we went into town for lunch. We passed a wine tasting shop on the way and Matt and I convinced Don to stop on the way back to the hotel. Turns out Michigan is producing some lovely wine.

At sunset Andy and Patty got married in the rain near the beach. It was very pretty, and of course a lovely ceremony.
After the ceremony we dined and danced the night away. Apparently I'm at my photo limit, so I'll have to post dancing photos later.

I know of a North Woods resort on Lake Superior that has shuffleboard. Maybe we can all go hang out up there when we're old folks.
